Here is a list of fun things to do this summer with your family and friends!

1. Go to the beach, make an incredible sand castle and take a perfect picture next to your masterpiece for Instagram!

2. Make a giant slip and slide and invite all your friends!

3. Have a huge game of hide and go seek all around the town with as many friends as possible!

4. Water balloon fights!

5. Take a trip to a water park and make a mini-vacation out of it.

6. Pitch a tent in your backyard and camp out for a night. If anything goes wrong, then you can always run inside!

7. Have a mass neighborhood car wash.

8. Make a time capsule, bury it and then open it on a special day in the future.

9. Volunteer at local charities and do good for your community.

10. Take a trip to the zoo!

11. Go bowling with friends.

12. If you see the ice cream truck drive through your neighborhood, then make sure to buy something!

13. Spend an entire day in your PJ's doing whatever you want that doesn't involve you getting dressed.

14. Take a spontaneous road trip to a random place on a map with your friends.

15. Go skinny dipping.

16. Have your own photoshoot and take as many pictures as you want, where ever you want.

17. Bake a bunch of cupcakes and bring them to your neighbors.

18. Get a group of friends together and their dogs, go to a dog park and watch all your dogs interact with each other.

19. Go to an outdoor concert.

20. Write a letter to a friend instead of texting them.

21. Spend time with your grandpa.

22. Go horseback riding.

23. Plant some sunflowers.

24. Dance in the rain and splash in the puddles.

25. Go to a drive-in movie theater!

26. Have a picnic in a park.

27. Treat yourself to spa day!

28. Take a shopping trip with all your best girlfriends.

29. Catch up with an old friend.

30. Do karaoke at a local restaurant or bar.

31. Take a long walk around a beach at night time.

32. Attend a parade!

33. Get some friends together and play messy twister (with paint).

34. Watch the 4th of July fireworks.

35. Collect as many seashells as you can.

36. Make a bunch of wishes in a fountain.

37. Play sand volleyball.

Summer is time for fun and relaxation. This list is a good start to an amazing summer!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
