It's that time of the semester, midterms are coming up and you can't focus for more than a minute. You tell yourself, "one more cat video and I'll go back to work" but then YouTube recommends clips from the Ellen DeGeneres show and all of a sudden an hour has passed and you've gotten hungry. If you're a procrastinator you probably know what this will lead to.

We've all been through it. Since we were 3 years old and procrastinated on naps our parents desperately wanted us to take (but we were too hyper to call it a day just yet) to being a full grown adult avoiding your responsibilities. People procrastinate in various ways and there are different kinds of procrastinators that I could probably make a good list of.However, this article is aimed for those who want to find a light at the end of the tunnel, if you know what I mean. Anyway, you're probably a procrastinator if you use phrases such as "I'll do it tomorrow" or "I'll just take a quick nap" (that leads to you waking up the next day). And then there's the procrastinator that gets things done somehow. If you're this
type of procrastinator then you most likely have no idea how you manage to get things done, but you do. Well, I'm here to tell you that means you're your own motivator. Think of it this way, you know no one else is going to push you harder than yourself because as author of
Cosmic Ordering: You can be successful Stephan Richards puts it, "you are essentially who you create yourself to be and all that occurs in your life is the result of your own making." No one wants to be the creator of their own downfall. Your mind is telling you to get up now so that you don't wait ten years on the couch, waiting for opportunities to come your way.Think of your future every time you say "later" because that "later" can easily become never. Sure, it'll be tough to stay up at 4 in the morning finishing up all your work, but at least you're breaking the habit. Essentially, the key to getting sh*t done is telling yourself the sooner you're done with this, the more you can binge watch on
Scandal (literally any Shonda Rhimes show) later.
Yes you may feel like procrastination will be the death of you, but there is time for everything. I don't care how busy of a person you claim yourself to be, you have the same hours as Beyonce. Therefore, you make it happen. Don't stress about the time wasted, and focus on the remaining time you have left.

And sure, procrastination is a curse in every writer or hard-worker, but what's important is listening to your conscious that tells you, "get your sh*t together before it's too late."
Have you ever heard of an optimistic pessimist (because I often forget to take my own advice)? Well, here's one. Hoping every day that it is never too late to get up and do what you love. As Charles Bukowski would say, "find what you love and let it kill you."
