'Full House,' 'Fuller House,' And Fullest Heart

“Full House” was a show that taught me so much as I was growing up. It ended in ’95, so of course, I only got to watch re-runs when it played after school or on Nick at Nite. But I, like so many others, still count it as a show of my childhood. I remember begging to stay up past 8:30 just to watch another. DJ and Steve were couple goals, Uncle Jesse was basically every girl’s first crush and I lived for the cheesy jokes and house filled with hugs. With the arrival of the reboot, fittingly named “Fuller House,” I have to admit I was skeptical at first. When the trailer came out in December, I was excited and nervous. I didn’t want them to ruin a good thing! But when I watched the first episode and saw all the familiar faces, I was just taken back. It will never top the original, but I was pleasantly surprised with the similarities and differences between the two.

Uncle Jesse is still a total babe.

Honestly, does John Stamos age?! He was so dreamy then and still is. Uncle Jesse is still as funny and sweet as ever with his gorgeous wife, Aunt Becky. And while we’re at it, she looks fabulous as well!

It’s the same house we dreamed of having, just with some modern touches.

I still wish I had the Tanner’s house! It just seemed never ending and had space for everyone. I loved the living room with the little nook in the back and always wondered what it would be like sitting in the kitchen for breakfast. Noticeably, they remodeled a bit with new appliances, a colorful backsplash and even a mudroom in the back. The living room looks a bit different, but still gives me that warm feeling with the iconic checkered couch right in the middle.

The catchphrases are back!

How rude! Oh my lanta! Have mercy! Cut it out! They’re all here yet again and just as great as before. I’d be lying if I said I haven’t quoted these throughout my life.

It's the same cheesy show we know and love.

I’ve heard so many people call the show corny. I don’t know if you guys forgot, but late '80s and '90s shows were cornier than a field in Iowa (just like that joke was). It’s the same as it was back then, a wholesome family show with a moral at the end. In my opinion, those are some of the greatest shows. Yes, the episodes all finish with happy endings, but what’s so bad about that?

Even though Michelle isn’t there, they still include her in the script.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen declined the offer to be in “Fuller House” due to being out of the acting business for so long. However, they make casual references back to the Olsen twins in a not-so-subtle way. I thought it was clever and hilarious, and I’m glad they didn’t just try to hire a new actress.

The rest of the original cast signed on.

The original cast is all there—even Nicky and Alex! Blake and Dylan Tuomy-Wilhoit who played the adorable Katsopolis twins were only four when the show ended, so I wouldn’t have even been able to tell if they weren’t the same actors.

Nevertheless, they made a guest appearance along with the rest of the beloved characters. Joey and Mr. Woodchuck, Danny, Uncle Jesse, Becky, Kimmy, Steve and obviously DJ and Stephanie—all reprised their roles. This show was a huge part of all of their lives, so they wanted to do it justice. And I’m glad they did.

Needless to say, I finished the series in a day, and I’m eagerly awaiting the next season! I felt like I was a kid eating popcorn and watching my favorite family go through their wacky adventures. “Fuller House” was like seeing an old friend after all these years.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
