13 Things You've Done If You're An FSU Student

13 Things You've Done If You're An FSU Student

We've all done them! If you haven't done it yet - no worries, your time is coming.

You're not a real FSU student if you haven't done, or aren't planning to do, these 13 things. It's more like a rite of passage, every single student participates, at one point or another. Whether it's because you just had to, your friends said you had to, or it happened by mistake, we've all been

1. Take a plunge in Wescott fountain on your 21st birthday.

This is the ultimate rite of passage here at Florida State that is taken very seriously. Wait until your 21st and then dive right in and swim a lap or two around good ole Wescott fountain.

2. Get a hug from Ms. Killings.

Everyone at FSU knows that Ms. Killings is a literal angel on earth. Even if you don't have a meal plan, you will still see this incredible woman walking around campus, spreading love and happiness.

3. Sign up for an 8 a.m. class, and then skip most of the classes.

I signed up for one freshman year and really thought I'd be able to do it...

4. Cry over a puppy on Landis.

They're just so darn cute, how can you not?

5. Pull an all-nighter in Stroz.

Yes, accidental all-nighters count.

6. Go to happy hour at Pot's.

This one just explains itself.

7. Tailgate before attending a football game.

Just because we haven't been playing well recently doesn't mean that you shouldn't attend the games!

8. Make a social media post about how FSU is now a "basketball school" or a "softball school" after attending one of the football games.

Don't lie, you know you've done it.

9. Hiked up Diffenbaugh mountain to take your required foreign language course.

Where did all these hills come from?

10. Walked into the Leach to get back in shape, and then walked right back out.

Too many meat heads and fit people!

11. Randomly started singing the FSU fight song in your head.

12. Contemplated swimming in one of the many fountains around campus because it's so dang hot.

We've all wanted to jump in, clothes and all. It doesn't get any hotter than August in Florida.

13. Wondered why someone would want to go to college anywhere else?

FSU is superior to all, no doubt about it.

10 TV Shows That Can Replace 'The Office' On Netflix By 2021

Netflix has done it again. Created a mass panic. But this time the reason is not that "Friends" is being taken down or renewed for a giant price.

No, this time it is much worse.

Netflix has said in just TWO short years, it is likely NBC will be taking 'The Office' down. I know, it is unthinkable. What else are we suppose to rewatch a hundred times and quote endlessly? You cannot simply take Michael Scott off of Netflix.

The best thing to ever happen was for Netflix to put "The Office", they made it popular again. And you @ me on that. But now they are removing it. I guess we will just have to watch other shows now.

Find other shows on Netflix to watch and to fill the void that NBC is creating for us.

5 Reasons Why Staying At College For The Summer Is The Ultimate Power Move

No school, no rules, summer vacation at the best place on Earth, also known as college.

As summer begins, it brings in the joy of no more school but for most what summer really brings is the sad realization that we have to leave our favorite place and go back to our boring home town with none of our new best friends. Although some have decided to stay at college for the summer and they will soon realize why this will be the best choice that they will be making all summer.

What's better than no school, warm weather, and most importantly no one to say, "Are you just going to sleep till 2:30 p.m. every day this summer?"

1. It's like the weekend, but every day

Do you know what weekends felt like during the school year when you didn't have anything to do? No? You never had any free weekends? Wow, I'm so sorry. Well, imagine a weekend that you didn't have to do anything. Now multiply that one weekend by seven and you get seven Saturday like days where you do not have a single care in the world.

3. No "Go cut the grass!"

For the sons, you know that annoying time every week when your dad is going to say, "Go cut the grass." There is nothing you can do to get out of it. Well, staying at school for the summer means no more nagging. You get to choose what you do now.

4. The bond of friendship

The friends you make when you stay at college for the summer are different than any other bond. Mostly because you all don't have a care in the world since it's summer in your favorite place. It's a right of passage to call someone your summer college best friends. These are best friends that words wouldn't do justice.

5. The townies

Everybody always wonders what happens to a college town when all the college kids go home. Well, the townies come back in full swing and take their town back. If you stay at your college, you get to experience what most can't even describe in words. To the one mid-40s guy trying to relive his glory days. To the old men hitting on the college girls at the local pub. To the weird towny creatures that make you shiver with fright as you drive past them. Have fun townies, you only have three months.

That dream of "I wish I could just stay here at college with all these people but have no responsibilities" is finally coming true.
