Dear friends and families,
It's been a week since our new album has officially released pretty much on every music trending platform on the web. The amount of support and great ambitions to share the album have been immensely profound, and its been something we will cherish for the rest of our lives. When we started this band six years ago, we were just some teenage kids with high hopes of making it big one day. Now I think I can speak for everyone in the band that we have switched our focus a bit. Sure, who wouldn't want to get big? But that's not what we seem to strive for. Nowadays we will produce music just because we love playing music, and if we can touch the lives of someone going through a difficult time, that's just the icing on the cake. If people have ambitions of being in a band for the money or to get a girl or boy to like them, they are a part of the problem that is wrong with this scene.
I think its important to know why you do what you do, and that goes with anything in life. We do what we do because we enjoy it, and we have the support of many people from our hometown. There have been times in my life where everything seems pretty grim and at times, paradoxical. However, I think when I'm on stage playing music with my friends everything goes completely out the window. I don't have to worry about anything or anyone else, and that's why this album is so important to me. It shows that we are still moving forward with this band, and FM Waves is my outlet of comfort in a way. Everyone has something that latch on to for closure, and mine just so happens to be producing music with some of the best buds in Nazareth. Next to my friends and family, the band has been the most important aspect of my life, and if you know me, you realize that. This album has been everything we would hope it would be so far. Between the texts, Snaps, and people posting lyrics of the songs everywhere, it's something you always hope would happen when you finish the album.
When you send an album out to the world its highly comparable to sending a kid to college I would imagine. You have done all you can do as a parent at that point, and you hope your child reflects what you instilled into them as a guardian. These eight songs are in a way some kid we sent to college, as weird as that sounds. We hope these songs live on longer than just the week we have beat them down your ears because we spent three years working on it. It's important to us in pretty much every way you can imagine. The late nights, the scrapping of songs, the arguments, the disagreements, the frustration, its all set aside to create what you listen to before you. We couldn't ask for greater people in our lives to support us during a time when we need them to. Thank you so much for providing us with the ambition to continue to do what we love doing. This wouldn't be possible without each one of you, and I'm glad that FM Waves can remain relevant for years to come.
Sincerely,
Some crappy bass player.
If you haven't listened to our album, go listen to it on Spotify or Bandcamp, and tell your friends and families! Thanks again!
