Ever since we were little, girls "didn't know anything aboutfootball." And sure, when I was younger, I didn't. Looking back now, after all the games I've watched, after learning the game, after bonding with so many people while rooting for the same team, I know how much this game means to me. I know that there are few things I would rather do than relax with my friends, eat some wings, and watch a game. I know that all those times my mom and I bought a bunch of food and trash talked the opposing team to each other in the living room made memories that I will hold close to my heart forever.
While those are all of my favorite things about watching football, the energy and feeling that comes with the game is by far one of the greatest parts as well. When your team scores a touchdown and you jump in the air celebrating, it's that feeling that keeps us watching every week.
So coming from the girl who grew up loving football, the super bowl means a lot more to me than a really big football game. It's more than the only time of the year some people even watch. It's about how it feels to come together with people you love and having fun. It's keeping that touchdown-feeling on a much larger scale. And most importantly it's buffalo chicken dip. So yeah, girls do like football.
