Through all my years I have met some amazing people and had some great friends, but sometimes people come and go. Since I have been at Michigan State, I have met so many fabulous girls and made so many amazing friends, but my friends from home are still my girls.
My friends from home are always the ones who are there to listen to me when I need an outsider's perspective on something that is happening at school.
They have been the ones to see me through my toughest moments and know the ins and outs of me and my life. I continuously feel connected to them even though they are miles and miles away from me all over the country. We have the best laughs, memories, and smiles.
They have shaped me throughout my life into the best me. We have been avid concert goers from the Cheetah Girls concert, Justin Bieber, and finally the many country concerts this summer like the Zac Brown Band. As we plan our Lollapalooza adventure, you can see that music plays such a big part in our lives/friendship, but so do other things.
We have a brunch club where we have rated every place we have eaten brunch at, and we also have movie nights, "Bachelor" nights, and nights where we eat copious amounts of food.
Then there have been the new friends I have made.
Even though I may not have known them the longest, I know these girls will be by my side for the rest of my life. I love knowing that these girls will be the ones I see at my wedding, they will be sitting next to me when we graduate, and they will always be there to listen. We have had some crazy moments, hilarious laughs, and fun Uber rides.
These girls though have also listened to me cry and have given me advice that I will always remember. They have encouraged me to be the best version of myself and to not care what other people think of me because they love me for who I am.
These girls are the ones that let me sleep on their futons and beds, take me to urgent care when I'm sick, and just go along with my wild antics. I never thought that I could meet my best friends so early on in my college experience, but I have and I could not be more thankful. School would not be as fun without them.
My piece of advice to everyone is keep your friends close to you--whether they are friends from home or college friends, always keep them close. If you can, integrate your friend groups; I know my friends from home would love my college friends and vice versa. I have the best friends and couldn't be more happy about this.
