Friends is a type of show like no other.
To start with, it’s the funniest show I have ever come across in my entire life. You can try and tell me otherwise. Trust me, I’ve watched How I Met Your Mother and I’ve watched some episodes of The Office, but neither of those shows compare to level of humor that Friends has.
It also has a theme song that will be stuck in your head for days and days. It's fun, catchy and is a great song to belt out with your own friends.
Phoebe Buffay, in my opinion, is the funniest character on the show. She has such a different sense of humor which makes it so entertaining. She sings in their local café, Central Perk, and if you watch the show, you will come to learn that she isn’t the best singer. It’s the effort and compassion she has for singing that is so humorous because she puts so much heart and soul into her songs. In addition, she makes these quiet, side comments that are said at the most perfect time in each scene. It could be a serious scene or an already funny scene, but the way she says things and the timing is just absolutely on point. Lastly, she has this one catch phrase where she says “Oh no”. I know it doesn’t seem that funny. Two words? How could that be funny? Watch the show and you’ll see.
You can’t forget about Ross and Rachel either. Ross and Rachel are the ultimate couple. They get together and then break up. Then they get back together and then are “on a break”. It’s a rollercoaster ride with those two and it makes the show so interesting because you won’t know how it ends until the very end. Watching these two “lobsters” throughout the show is so difficult and so heart-breaking and exciting. You will have so many emotions. One night you will be ecstatic because they are just so perfect and you ask yourself, “why don’t I have that?” Then the next night, you’ll be crying in bed because your favorite couple just broke up and then you’ll say to yourself, “that’s why I don’t’ have that”. Ross and Rachel give you way too many mixed feelings in a very short amount of time, so be prepared.
Chandler, Monica and Joey are still just as important as the other 3 characters too. Chandler has this weird sense of humor that is kind of uncomfortable but will still make you laugh uncontrollably. He is scared of commitment and covers it up by using comedy. Monica is a high maintenance woman who tries her hardest to be the best in everything she does, whether it be eating, a board game or even being the best “loser”. Joey is an unsuccessful actor who is constantly trying to make it big in his acting career but never seems to be successful. He is definitely a lady’s man because every morning he always seems to have a different woman coming out of his bedroom. These three characters you will learn to love because they are so great.
Friends is a show that you can continuously watch and never get tired of it. I have watched the same episodes more than 10 times in my life and each time I laugh or cry just the same, maybe even more. It will continue to have the power to make you feel so many emotions, even after watching it several times.
10 seasons of this show and you’ll immediately feel like these six characters are your friends as well. You will laugh when they laugh, cry when they cry. You’ll be happy and sad and everything above. Friends will make you laugh until you pee your pants, but it also has the power to make you sob like a baby. You will feel emotions you never thought were possible. It will teach you life lessons about friends, family, love and so much more. I know, you’re probably thinking how can a show make such a huge impact on a person’s life? Watch the show and you’ll see for yourself.
