If The 'Friends' Characters Were College Majors

You definitely know at least one of these people.

If The 'Friends' Characters Were College Majors

No matter where you go to school, each campus has a population of diverse people and interests. If you're in college, you know that every major attracts a certain type of person. Some of these majors match well with characters from everyone's favorite 90s sitcom: "Friends." And the six friends have more in common with college majors than you may think.

Ross Geller - Geology

Geology majors live for science. Not only do they outwardly express their scholarly interests, but they also try to get others interested as well, usually with little success. Ross's greatest passion is paleontology, and no matter how hard he tries - and he does try hard - he can never get the rest of the gang to listen. Like geology majors, Ross may be more reserved and spend more time than he should in the lab, but his success in the professional world is clear to all.

Joey Tribbiani - Theatre

Some people think of theatre as a "joke major" and assume that there is no work involved. Like Joey, their skills and abilities are underestimated time and time again. But as a true underdog, Joey doesn't give up when things don't go his way. Theatre majors spend hours and hours reading plays as well as rehearsing for productions. Although their contributions may go unnoticed, they're the real stars on campus.

Monica Geller - Political Science

Political science majors love debating and sharing their point of view, and that's right up Monica's alley. She has very strong opinions on just about everything and she likes to talk, even if she doesn't really have much to say. Political science majors know the facts behind every statement they make, and they jump at the chance to argue for their beliefs. But although she's definitely strong-willed, she's still supportive and kind.

Phoebe Buffay - Environmental Studies

Environmental studies majors have one main interest: environmental conservation. They care about everything on this planet and want to make sure it's around for as long as possible. Phoebe, who's sometimes identified as the "hippie" of the group, is exactly the same way. As a vegetarian, she is passionate about protecting animals and all living things. Sometimes environmental studies majors can come off too strongly, but like Phoebe, they have the ability to counter every argument that comes their way.

Rachel Green - Fashion Merchandising

Any person studying the fashion world is easily one of the hippest and most in-the-know people on campus. Rachel is always the first to share gossip and news, because she knows everything about everyone. Not only is she incredibly stylish, but, like fashion merchandising majors, she has a passion for the business and is really good at what she does.

Chandler Bing - Computer Science

In the show, everyone knows that Chandler works with computers and data, but no one knows what he really does. Computer science majors will spend hours and hours in the lab, but does anyone actually know what they're doing? Exactly. Like computer science majors, Chandler can be a little bit quirky, but he is always around to lend an ear.

Which "Friends" character best represents your major? Hopefully it's not Gunther.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
