I hope you're happy but I miss you.

Hey Friend,

Let me begin by saying that things are different without you here, not bad but definitely different. It’s strange not seeing you every day, you know apart from our forty-day Snapchat streak, but that’s not the same. I miss you a lot and I find myself every day wishing that I could still share this college experience with you. I feel like a piece of my experience is missing without you here. You were my bud, my partner in crime and my forever dining hall lunch date and I miss hanging out with you. With that being said I hope that you are really and truly loving your new school. I know you weren’t happy here and though I want to be selfish and have you come back for my sake, it’s not worth you sacrificing your enjoyment of college.

In all honesty, I’m glad you transferred. I mean, I did it too so I know how it is to be in a place that makes you unhappy even though you may love some people there. I also know it was just as hard for you to leave as it was for me, considering the connections and friendships you made in your time here (*cough, cough*). I also know how difficult it is to move from one school to another. A new place, new people, different experiences and big changes. You basically have to do your freshman year all over again in that you have to become acquainted with a new campus and its surrounding area as well as find your niche and a group of friends. I sincerely hope that you have adjusted successfully and that you have found some awesome people to hang out with. If not, you know you can always come back.

I hope as we enter into our third week of this new school year that you have found your place and you are happy as a clam. I hope you make new friends, try new things and get everything you possibly can out of your college experience. You know I’ll always miss you and you know you’ll always be someone special to me. The nice thing is we didn’t say goodbye forever and you’re always a short car ride, phone call, text, Snapchat or Facetime call away. I’m always here, though I may not be close. Good luck in all the new shenanigans you're experiencing and I will see you soon.

I wish you all the best, my friend.

Love Always,

The Friend Left Behind

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
