Your Best Friend Might Be Your Soulmate

No, we're not dating, but we might as well be.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake, and James Franco and Seth Rogen are just a few examples of the ultimate best friend goals. You can't have one without the other.

Having best friends is the best feeling in the world! You know there's always someone in your corner during the good and the bad. People are always on the hunt for their romantic soulmate, but I think finding a friend-soulmate is just as special. These people bring out the best in you and let you be your goofy self with no judgement!

You have your own language

Whenever other people are around you two, they hardly understand what you're talking about. There's just no time to explain all the stories and inside jokes, which leaves others completely lost. While you're crying from laughter, everyone else is wondering what they've missed. All you did was clap once and then the two of you burst into hysterics. When it comes to you two, words aren't always necessary to know what the other is talking about.

You feel what they feel

In your eyes, your friend-soulmate is the best human in the world! If you could control it, nothing bad would ever happen to them. But no matter what happens, you're there to talk to them, or just to listen. When they cry, you do, too, and when they're happy, so are you! Sometimes, you may even be more affected than they are. You have such a connection that some people even mistake you for a real couple.

You constantly tease each other

Just like siblings, you're always making fun of each other. Other people might think you're really mean, but you know that your friend actually loves you. However, no one else is allowed to say what you say to your best friend. At the end of the day, you can mock them for never being on time and they can mock you for taking your shoes off no matter where you are. You've learned to accept each other's weirdness, but not without cracking a few jokes first!

You're in each other's relationships

You guys are a package deal, and that means that when one of you is in a relationship, you both are! You know everything there is to know about the relationship. Sometimes you're the one texting their significant other. When the three of you get together, they may occasionally feel like the third wheel. Since neither of you are going anywhere, they just need to accept it.

You never judge each other

You trust them with your most embarrassing stories and they trust you with all of theirs. When it comes to the two of you, no topic is off limits: Even poop. You tell this person everything. Sometimes you even become each other's doctors, because going to the real doctor means there's something actually wrong with you. Nothing you tell them will gross them out or make them think differently of you. You may be dysfunctional, but you're dysfunctional together.

No matter what you're doing with your friend-soulmate, you always have a good time! You can't imagine your life without them, and you're always talking about what life will be like in the future. It's as if your friendship was destined to happen! Even if you don't see each other all the time, when you do, nothing has changed, and you pick up right where you left off. I'm still looking for my romantic soulmate, but I already found a few friend-soulmates along the way.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
