Lucky for me, I have a twin sister. Sadly for me, she is in San Francisco while I am hibernating away in the mountains of Vermont. My twin is my best friend, and there are many things we do that continue to confirm that fact. Even though we are hundreds of miles apart, we forever find ways to maintain our sisterly love and bond. And when we are back at it at home, it's as if we never parted, and we never want to part again. Since I am an experienced twin (going on twenty-one years), I like to say that I am an expert in detecting best friends who might as well be long-lost twins. Here are some DEFINITE signs that your best friend is just a sister from another mister:
1. You text all of the time about absolutely nothing, even the weather.
2. When somebody tells you "not to tell," you can tell your best friend because they don't actually count.
3. You match on random days, and no, it wasn't planned.
4. They get all of the dirty deets about your life that you wouldn't dare vocalize to anyone else.
5. You can literally do ANYTHING in front of them and no shame will ever be involved.
6. You text them right when as they are looking down at their phone.
7. You have the same mechanisms, and when they come out at the same time both of you get kind of freaked out about it.
8. You send each other screen shots of conversations you are having with other people.
9. You plan on living together after college, even if significant others are involved.
10. You enable each other to do stupid things.
11. When you see something funny on social media, you make sure to tag them in it.
12. They have some SERIOUS black mail on you, but you just don't care.
13. Their siblings are even your friends. You definitely have their numbers.
14. When somebody invites you to a party, your best friend is an implied “plus one."
15. You will bicker often, most likely about petty things, but it won’t last— and it’ll probably become a joke in the near future.
16. Heck, people have even asked if you are twins!
OK so, maybe you two aren't bless with the title of "twins," but you certainly have a bond like my sister and I do (and like all of the other famous twins that we know and love). And, who knows, maybe living in different houses growing up did you two some good-- less fighting and a tad more individuality, perhaps? At the end of the day, do your best to embrace your twinhood, because not everybody is so blessed to have a sister as their best friend!!
