As graduation inevitably approaches, it's hard not to think about who you were when you first started this college journey. You were most likely awkward, awkward looking, freaked out about going to the bathroom without asking in class, probably acted like a fool at parties, and a lot of other unmentionable embarrassing moments.

So, here's your freshmen self vs. your senior self-handling situations very differently.

1. Freshmen you at parties:

Senior you at parties:

Freshmen year the pregame started at 8 p.m. and you'd stay out till 3 a.m. doing god knows what. Senior year, to be honest, you're lucky if you even make it out of your sweatpants to go to a party.

2. Being 5 minutes late to class freshmen year:

Being 5 minutes late to class senior year:

Freshmen year running late to class literally meant running to class. Now running late means checking the attendance policy and trying again next week. Get 3 skips the entire semester? Yeah, just use them all in a row that's a good idea.

3. Cooking dinner for your freshmen self:

Senior year:

Suddenly, ramen turns into elaborate Pinterest dinners that only occasionally set the fire alarms off and the TV changes from reality tv to HGTV and FoodNetwork.

4. Buying alcohol freshmen year:

Senior year:

"How are we gonna get alcohol?" "Will I get arrested?" Fast forward to senior year when you're walking your dog outside holding a big glass of wine hoping your neighbors don't judge you.

5. Freshmen year mornings:

Senior year:

It's crazy to think that just three years ago you actually cared what you looked like on campus and only drank caffeine that was hidden in pounds of sugar and fancy names.

6. Organization freshmen year:

Senior year:

Personally, freshman year I had 5 notebooks, one for each class and kept a detailed dry erase board calendar on my wall. Currently, I have a single notebook, that's all.

7. Freshmen year Halloween:

Senior year:

Your first year, everyone on your hall was probably a "sexy (insert something not naturally sexy)." For example, a basic "sexy cat," nothing about cats are sexy, nothing.

8. Making friends in your class freshmen year:

Senior year:

Freshmen year you probably studied with your classmates, got their numbers the first day of class and followed them on every social media site. Now, senior year, you show up for class, take notes, then go home to nap without talking to a single soul.

Even though it's cringing experience to think about your freshmen self, everyones gotta start somewhere.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
