Going off to college is a new experience that brings a whirlwind of emotions to you. It is both exciting and scary at the same time. With new surroundings and new friends, becoming accustomed to everything can be a challenge. Personally, one of my biggest challenges was being away from my pets. So, why not compare the struggles of adjusting to college life to cats?
1. Arriving and seeing the campus you will be spending your time on
Soon, you'll find out all the "secret" or "unknown" spots to hang out, study and even nap. This comes in handy in times that you just need a change of scenery if you're always staying in your dorm.
2. Moving into your dorm
This is going to be where you will be spending a good majority of your time, so you might as well make it as much of a home as you can!
3. Meeting your roommate
For some people, college will be their first experience living with someone. You could be close or not get along at all, but it's always exciting meeting them and sharing new experiences together.
4. First Day of Classes
College is very different from high school, and going to your first day of classes is very exciting.
5. When You Forget To Do An Assignment
It happens to everyone—you lose track of time and suddenly you forgot to finish that online quiz that was due at midnight.
6. When the weather starts to get colder
If you're like me, cold weather is the absolute worst so when snow starts to fall, so does my motivation for work.
7. When you just want the semester to end
The light at the end of the tunnel is close, but not close enough. You literally just want everything to finish up so you can have a long nap.
8. Finals week
Struggling to make sure you pass all your classes, because nobody wants to take a class again. It's a struggle sometimes to get all the studying in, but in the end, it is worth it.
9. Realizing it was a great year, and you low-key can't wait for the fall
Even though you had so much work continuously, you know that you really did enjoy every second of it!
