Everyone will try to prepare you for college in their own ways. Nothing can compare to the words of those who have experienced it first hand. Get ready future freshman, here's some things I hope you avoid.
1. Ending Up With Shitty Professors
Look up every professor before you sign up for their class. Your professor can either be your best or worst decision. It can decide pass or fail, in any class.
2. Falling Off Your Lofted Bed
Lofted beds are nice when you can fit extra stuff under them, but maybe opt for a lower option if you just got back from going out.
3. Locking Yourself Out Of Your Room
This means having to go down to the main office, in whatever state you're in, to ask to be let in. Always check for your keys before you leave.
4. Walking To Class In The Rain
Check the weather before leaving, or prepare to sit through lecture soaking wet. That's all I have to say about that.
5. Getting Hit By A Biker
Make sure to pay attention at all times when walking on campus because some bikers/skaters/hoverboaders have no mercy.
6. Having To Buy Another Student ID
No one wants to pay $20 for a new ID, but honestly you can't live without it so find a way to keep up with yours.
7. Not Making It To The Football Game
I'm not sure if this is a bad thing or a good thing. Have fun at tailgates, but make sure you don't get in trouble.
8. Missing The Party Bus
This means having to either go home, or have someone drive you downtown. Get ready early, that way you don't get there too late to hop on.
9. Losing Your Shoes
Try wearing shoes with straps, especially when you go out. If you leave them at a frat house, chances are you're not getting them back. This sounds dumb, but it's more common than you think. RIP gold jacks.
10. Procrastinating
Nothing sucks more than having to stay in because you waited til 11 to do your assignment due at midnight.
11. Going To The Bathroom At Frat Houses
Three words. No Toilet Paper. BYOTP.
12. Boys
Enough said, freshman boys aren't worth it.
