There are ups and downs to your freshman year of college. Most of your times can be described through song lyrics, as I am coming to realize, almost any moment in life can be. Here are just 20 songs I feel summarize the freshman year of college. I suggest listening to the majority of them because you may find you can relate as well.

1. All Night Longer- Sammy Adams

You come into college confident and with expectations to only have fun... you will soon find out you are wrong.


2. You Ain’t See Nothing Yet- Bachman-Turner Overdrive

After taking the first test in each of your classes which you thought were hard; this is what your professors are thinking.

You are starting to get annoyed with people and standing up for yourself.. this song explains it well.

You get back in your mindset of having fun and your friends convince you it's okay to put off your homework.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
