Oh Monday, how we meet again. Another week of waking up feeling moody, not wanting to get dressed and ready for work, stress and adult responsibilities. However, the way you spend your Monday can seriously affect the rest of your week, from your mindset and eating habits to your productivity. Rather than setting yourself up for failure, try incorporating these simple tasks into your Monday routine in order to make a difference. Are you ready for your best week yet?
1. Start off with a clean apartment
Looking for positivity? Start with the one place you feel most comfortable in. A clean apartment creates the right setting for the rest of the week. Having a clean space allows you to destress and focus on more important things like yourself, work and friends. When your apartment is all neat and clean, you will want to keep it that way. And when everything around you is organized and in its place, it will declutter your mind and help you be more productive.
2. Schedule your to-do list
What’s a better feeling than crossing things off your to-do list? Creating this list will help you feel organized and sets up your weekly schedule nicely. Trying to remember everything you need to do can be stressful and leads to forgetting things that may be important. Instead of overwhelming yourself, which makes you grumpy, making a weekly to-do list will set your mind at ease. It’s important to make a weekly to-do list, rather than a daily to-do list, because the odds of you getting everything done that Monday are slim to none. Choosing a few items from that list to get done a day at a time will help you destress and feel accomplished all week.
3. Try to exercise three times a week
This is a tough one, especially on a Monday morning. If you can work out on a Monday it will not only help you feel more energized but more motivated to exercise more consistently throughout the week. Plus it gives you a chance to escape the work week for a little bit and clear your head. Plan your workouts throughout the week so it’s one less thing to think about! Go out and sign up for classes or commit to going for a run and get that exercise in!
4. Have a full fridge
Healthy input equals a healthier output. Having a full fridge and keeping fresh produce and other basics on-hand for the week lends yourself to eating healthier. This will allow you to have more energy and overall feel better about what you’re putting inside your body! Plus eating a healthy lunch during the day will keep you on track for ending your 40-hour work week on a more positive note!
P.S. Imagine how your mom would feel knowing you have a fridge full of healthy food rather than pizza and beer!
