"The Bachelor" is currently on it's 20th season and it seems that, in the past few years, it's really started to boom. Social media has contributed to the amount of viewers the show has gained in the recent years. On Monday nights, you can pretty much forget about logging onto Facebook or checking Twitter without seeing posts about the ridiculous or controversial things happening on the show.
Some of my favorites come from the Twitter account solely dedicated to Olivia’s mouth (seriously that cannot be normal) and the crazy things she says. Until I started watching it with a few of my friends, I had never really noticed how seriously (or not) some people take the show. I’ve found that most of my friends fit into these four categories.
1. The Dedicated
She created her Fantasy Draft at the beginning of the season. You could compare her to a guy during football season when it comes to how serious she takes this. She records and watches every episode but she’ll never delete them because she’ll probably end up watching them again. You can forget asking her if she wants to hang out on Mondays unless you plan on watching it with her.
2. The Skeptical
It’s not that she hates the show, it’s that she thinks it’s all fake. You can usually find her making fun of the girls for saying, “I’m really falling in love with him” whenever they've only known the guy for three weeks. She’s a firm believer that if people on the show are that attractive, then something has to be wrong with them for them to not be able to get a date without the help a TV show.
3. The Follower
She only watches it because her friends drag her into it. She’s pretty indifferent on the show or any of the contestants because she hasn’t seen it enough to even remember their names. You would never catch her watching the show on her own, or at least she won’t admit to it.
4. The Future Bride
If it was up to her, the show would have been cancelled by now because she’s actually going to marry Ben Higgins. At least that’s what she thinks. She gets more irritated than normal whenever she sees him kissing on another girl, which seems to happen pretty often. She’s preparing to put that Pinterest board to good use soon. Say hello to future Mrs. Ben Higgins!
This season has already proved itself to be full of comical dates, lots of tears and the usual drama. So grab your friends, grab your guac and find out which category you fit into!
