4 Things To Do Over Spring Break

Spring break is quickly on its way! I, for one, could not be more excited. This is around the time during the semester where everyone feels a bit burnt out. Someone, please let the fall semester know, because we get nothing then. It should be a crime.

Here's a list of things to do so you can get the most out of your spring break!

1. Clean out your closet.

Cleaning your closet should be a two or three times a year thing. I, for one, love cleaning my closet. It's so fun to take everything out and just wipe away the dust that has collected in the drawers and shelves for God knows how long. All you have to do is take everything out, clean out the actual closet, then put things back in. You can also choose things to donate or throw away if you find yourself needing some extra space! (Please donate old clothes. Throwing away clothes is so wasteful.)

2. Study?

Probably not what you want to do, but exams are slowly inching our way and it's better to start early than cram the night before. I recommend making flash cards or a study guide, rather than full on study time. You can save that for the library when you get back to campus.

3. Sleep

It's probably what I'll be doing, let's be real.

4. Hit up a local museum.

This is what I wish I was doing. I live pretty close to NYC, so hitting up the MET or Guggenheim is fairly easy for me to get to. The Guggenheim is one place you have to go before you die. Trust me on that one.

That's all I've got. The rest of those hours are going to be spent scrolling through Twitter and probably working out. Maybe I'll see a movie.

Can you tell I have no friends?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
