It's fair to say that we often underestimate just how important our college friends are. These are the people who will see us at our best (and worst) during the most exciting four years of our lives. From dance parties in dorms to nights crying over boys to the victorious moments when all we want to do is jump for joy, they're there through it all.

Here are a few things to thank your college friends for.

1. Spontaneously going to get food at all hours of the night

Good friends are the kind that tell you it's socially acceptable to get yourself McDonald's or Taco Bell at one a.m. Best friends are the kind that go with you to get the food, and jam out to music on the way.

2. Helping you through every emotional breakdown

Even if you are crying for the third time this week over the fact that you're broke, or the fact that you barely sleep, your college friends listen, because they know the struggle.

3. Answering your FaceTime calls or texts ASAP, even though you live right down the hall

And then coming directly to your room when they realize it's a crisis.

4. Eating with you in the dining hall

Because, let's face it, no one wants to sit by themselves. Once they sit with you, all you do is complain about the food. Sometimes, complaining with your best friends is the best part of your day.

5. Hyping you up

Yes, your college friends deserve a little recognition for telling you that you slay every day, or liking every single one of your selfies. They do it because they love you.

6. Hating the same people you do

You can communicate with just one glance. With one look, the whole group knows that person just walked into the room. Then, you start planning all the things you're going to say about them later. After all, you always rant.

7. Loving you unconditionally

Admittedly, there are times when you don't have it all together. You're convinced your life is falling apart, and you're freaking out because of it. Sometimes, you're a little crazy. Other times, you're just plain weird.

But your college friends love you through it all, no matter what, because that's what friends do.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
