An Open Letter To My Future Wife

One day we will be forever.

An Open Letter To My Future Wife

As I stare into your wide, captivating, blue eyes, with your long flowing golden hair, I can only imagine what our future looks like. One day, living on a hilltop somewhere, surrounded by beautiful views and filled with joy.

The mountains, covered in snow, on a cold brisk winter morning, no worries. Your hand holding mine by the fireplace will keep me warm for years and years to come. Snuggled up underneath that blanket from grandpa that he gave to us on our wedding day, wearing the Snuggies my crazy aunt gave us. Whenever it gets cold, you warm me up. My heart beats for your warmth and your touch.

I picture us getting married in a picturesque spot out in the country. A nice country wedding outside on a fall evening, all of our family in attendance. A beautiful reception, dancing with you to the song we crowned ours, the one mirrored after our lives and how we met and became one!

I picture us having two kids, hopefully a boy and a girl. A son who takes after me and a beautiful daughter with the likes of her mama; strong, beautiful and crazy. I see them playing with a beautiful dog (a manly one), on the hillside on a warm summer day. Sweet tea, the grill going and family arriving for dinner and laughter all night long. I see you putting them to sleep with a beautiful song or story.

I picture us growing old together, raising our kids to be the best they can be. Maybe teachers like mommy or an athlete like daddy. Whatever they want, so long as we love them!

I picture us, an old couple, with the love we share and the kids we raised keeping us going into our golden years. I see you and I holding each other tight, reading the morning paper and having coffee and breakfast while we ponder about where our lives went. I see you and me looking back on a wonderful, long and prosperous marriage, thinking about all the good times we shared and all the memories we made. I see us having each other until our last day, till death do us part. I, your future husband, will promise to love and cherish you, forever and ever, amen.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
