10 Facts About The Force Awakens.

The much anticipated "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" has been outrageously successful since it was released a month ago. The seventh installment of the series is the highest grossing film of all time in the United States. It is also currently the third highest grossing film worldwide, having made $1.8 billion.

Like most Star Wars fans, I have made my way to the theater more than once to see this movie. On top of that, I have spent the last month reading articles and watching youtube videos that discuss the film and possible theories. It seems like Star Wars is everywhere and Star Wars fans want to know everything there is to know about "The Force Awakens." Here are some facts about the first film of the newest Star Wars Trilogy.

1. Harrison Ford's Billing

This is the only Star Wars film that Harrison Ford has received top billing for. This makes him the first character to be credited first that is not a Jedi.

2. Carrie Fisher's Daughter

When Carrie Fisher returned to reprise her role of Princess Leia, she also brought along her daughter, Billie Lourd. Lourd fought with the resistance and rocked the classic Leia hairstyle.

3. Kenny Baker

This is the first Star Wars movie that Kenny Baker did not play R2-D2. Despite this, he is still credited as "R2-D2 consultant."

4. Budget

At $200 million, "The Force Awakens" had the biggest budget of any Star Wars film. When the film opened, it made $40 million more than this budget in the first weekend.

5. J.J. Abrams

With this movie, J.J. Abrams became the only director to direct both a Star Trek film and a Star Wars film.

6. Release Date

This was the first Star Wars film to be released in December. All of the other films were released in May. The eighth installment was set to be released in May of 2017 but following the success of "The Force Awakens", it has been moved to December 2017.

7. Tatooine

It is the first Star Wars film that the planet of Tatooine is not seen or even mentioned.

8. Rey's Bread

The instant bread Rey makes in the film was not CGI and took about three months to create the effect.

9. PG-13

"The Force Awakens" is only the second Star Wars film to be rated PG-13. The first was "Episode III: Revenge of the Sith."

10. John Williams

John Williams received his 50th Oscar nomination for scoring "The Force Awakens."

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
