For When You Don't Feel Good Enough

Just a reminder that it's not true.

It doesn’t matter if you need this now, you needed it a month ago or you need it in a year. You’ll need this reminder. I’m sure someone has come along in your life and made you feel inadequate. It happens to the best of us. It doesn’t matter whether he or she did it intentionally, but feelings are feelings. Nobody has the right to invalidate them. So if you’ve felt as if you’re not good enough for any reason, this is for you.

Someone has said “I just don’t want a relationship” or “I just want some time to work on myself.” Someone has chosen the other girl over you. Someone has chosen the other guy over you. You weren’t first choice. You weren’t first priority to this person. But I promise you, that is okay. He or she didn’t choose you for a reason.

You are more than enough.

The point is: if they don’t see how great you are, as you are, then it’s not worth it in the first place. You deserve someone who recognizes your beauty and uniqueness and would never put you in a competition and/or make you feel as if you’re not measuring up to someone else. The second you start comparing yourself to the person you “lost” to, that is when all of the lies start running through your head. Everything you tell yourself- they’re better than I am, prettier, smarter, funnier- will make you feel worse and worse. And they are lies. You are all of those things that you say they are. It’s a matter of believing and acting like it.

We all have a long list of someones and somethings that have made us feel bad. The best part is that those are in the past, and from here, we move forward. The only way to move forward is with truth.

The truth is that you are enough. You will always be enough. If you ever doubt that, know that there is someone out there waiting to remind you of it every day. In the meantime, love yourself and remind yourself. Other people don’t have the right to talk down to you or own your feelings towards yourself.

God says we’re made in His image, and that alone reassures me that each and every one of us are beautiful, important, and most of all, enough.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
