"Our Childhood Was Better Than Yours"

Everyone claims the generation they grew up in was the best but I can honestly say there's nothing better than growing up in the 90's into the early 2000's. I'd be lying if I said growing up in the 90's is the same as growing up in today's generation. If I wanted to hangout with my friend I would walk over to their house, ring their doorbell, and ask their parents if they were home. Now all anyone ever does is text one another to make plans. "What are you doing later, wanna chill?" Everything has changed. Growing up in the 90's was completely different and I'm so glad I'll always remember by childhood as a "90's kid." I lived my childhood dream and I can proudly say that I was slimed on Nickelodeon's Slime Time Live. What's cooler than that? Every time I went to the grocery store with my mom getting a Wonderball was a necessity, you couldn't see my bedroom floor because it was covered by Polly Pocket Pieces, and I had more Webkinz that you could ever imagine. So what makes growing up in the 90's so special you ask? Here's 29 things that made growing up in the 90's so great:

1. Dunkaroos

Even though your mom probably always refused to buy these, when she did it was always the best snack to have in your lunch at school.

2. Hit Clips

3. Heelys

4. When Disney Channel was actually good

That's So Raven, Lizzy McGuire, Phil of The Future, Kim Possible, Hannah Montana, and so many more.

5. Rainbow Scratch Paper

There was nothing better than when your art teacher pulled these out.

6. Milky Pens

7. Slip n Slides

8. Skip It

This truly gave you your exercise for the day.

9. Ring Pops

10. Yoyo-water balls

These were best until schools started to ban them.

11. Rainbow parachutes & wheelies

Gym class wasn't complete without these fun games.

12. Trix Yogurt

The only yogurt you would ever eat as a child. What's cooler than yogurt with two different colors?

13. Blow up chair & couch

Who needs real furniture when you can have blow up furniture?

14. Big Comfy Couch

The best show ever created, although now that I think about it, it's kinda creepy.

15. Floatie Flip Flops

The best and most comfortable flip flops you will ever own.

16. Lunchables

You were always the coolest kid at the lunch table when you whipped one of these out.

17. Furby

What's that creepy noise? Oh it's just my Furby.

18. Tamagotchi

19. Polly Pockets

Pieces and pieces everywhere.

20. Beanie Babies

21. Wonder Ball

The best candy ever created. Thank god they brought this back to stores.

22. Easy Bake Ovens

When your mom couldn't let you cook with her you ran to your easy bake oven to make a desert for the family.

23. Webkinz

Now this was more in the 2000's but what was better than the Webkinz phase?

24. Nickelodeon

There was nothing better than rolling out of bed on a Saturday morning and watching Nickelodeon, and chances are "All That" was your favorite TV show.

25. Jelly Bear Keychains

26. Hula Hoops

27. AIM

Lets be honest we all had those embarrassing usernames (mine was Lilmonkeyj48) and we edited our "buddy profiles" at least twice a day.

28. Kudos Bars

29. Heads Up, 7-Up

So yeah, I guess you could say us 90's kids were "All That."

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
