With summer winding down, and the back-to-school supplies littering Target, it is time to focus on the most wonderful time of the year: football season. No one wants to attend their first game looking like a square, so follow these easy tips to guarantee you will look super fresh on game day.
1. Cute outfit(s).
You cannot be an outfit repeater on game day. Chances are you will take half a million pictures that you and your friends will post to Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and whatever new social media outlet will become cool this fall. That being said, you don’t want to be wearing the same dress every Saturday. Buy skirts and blouses and mix and match. Don’t forget to show some school spirit with your team colors.
2. Comfy shoes.
On game days you go from sun up to sun down (or the next sun up if it is a night game). So trust me, you do not want to be that girl tripping in insanely tall wedges or having to leave the game to go get Band-Aids for your blisters at halftime. Either start out in comfortable shoes, or pack a pair of flip-flops in your bag. You will be happy to have them by the third quarter.
3. Sunglasses.
Sunglasses are an absolute must. They not only protect your eyes, but they also make you look at least three times cooler than you actually are. On the hotter days, they also help you conceal how much of your makeup is dripping off of your face. Plus, they can hide the tears in an unfortunate loss.
4. A Big Purse.
You must have one of these to store everything you will need for the game—extra shoes. I am not condoning sneaking drinks into the stadium, but you might want to look for some with multiple sneaky compartments.
5. Shaker.
(For those of you that do not go to Alabama, I am assuming you have something similar.) You cannot be caught dead at an Alabama game without a shaker. How else will everyone know you are diehard fan? Sometimes they give you one inside the stadium, but I would not count on that for the smaller games.
6. Hot date.
This one speaks for itself. What would game day be without some sweet arm candy? If you are lucky, they might even buy you some nachos. If you cannot find a special someone, your best friend will do just fine, if not better. I have gone to many a game with my best girl friends, and have had the time of my life. Freshmen, do not worry if someone doesn’t ask you to the game. Have fun with your friends.
You only have four football seasons as a student, so enjoy every minute!
