"The 2016 NFL season, the 97th season in the history of the National Football League (NFL), is scheduled to begin on Thursday, September 8, 2016, with the annual kickoff game featuring the defending Super Bowl 50 champion Denver Broncos hosting the Carolina Panthers."

Football is the all American sport that everyone watches, even if they might not fully understand it. From age 1 to age 100, everyone can enjoy this nail biting and thrilling sport. I mean, what other sport has it’s own holiday?

Thanksgiving and football have always been associated with each other. Families join together, feast on some good food, watch those men play ball, feast again & repeat. It’s a sport that is part of the American culture; just like how soccer is for Brazil & Rugby for England. Of course there’s the all American baseball and basketball, but those rivalries are no match for football rivalries. Sure you’d like to watch a Yankees vs. Red Sox game while eating a hot dog & cracker jacks, but you have to admit, that’s no match for a Super bowl game between the Bears vs. Packers.

What’s not to like?

You hit the guy on the other team as hard as you can, grab the ball, guard it & run! Each play is it own mini tussle and has its own story. Football gives us a sense of solidarity in our community. It brings us together because it is bonded by a universal hope, a common thread.

I wasn’t much of a football fanatic, but by going to a football crazy university, & watching some friends participate in fantasy football, I’ve come to love it. Movies like “The Blind Side” and shows like “Friday Night Lights” really depict the way football, as a sport, can genuinely change a young man’s life, mostly for the better.

Football is the ultimate pass time that unites people who just want to have great time. We all bust out the unhealthy junk food and pass it around the couch till it’s all gone. Football season doesn’t get any better than this. All the excitement builds up to high school football on Friday nights, colleges on Saturday and NFL Sundays and Mondays.

Football is the impelling, exhilarating, edge of your seat game of America which will always be cherished.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
