Preferably now.

This is a response to To the Girls That Feel Things They Don't Want to Feel.

The entrepreneurs wake up at 4 or 5 in the morning, work out, shower, have breakfast, watch the news or their stocks and go about their day fulfilling the tasks that they have scheduled for themselves.

And then there are others who can’t or refuse to follow a regimen of this type of discipline.

Does this make those people not good enough? Absolutely not!

Then why do we beat ourselves up trying to follow what others are doing only to find ourselves back at square one?

We can divulge into this but, let’s save that for another time or we could be here for hours.

Whatever the reason is, there are many avenues someone can take to achieve what they are searching for. Self-confidence? Direction? Purpose? (Just to name a few) but where do you start?

Can someone just point us to the right direction so we can finally achieve our purpose in life and be happy for the rest of our precious and endearing lives?

No.

Let’s just be honest! We can read hundreds of articles, contribute to the seminars that successful motivational speakers profit from, look up to someone else (which we should probably not use as a foundation of how we live our lives) and well, you get it. We could do these things but what will that profit us in the end?

If we could all go to that one place to make us feel good forever…we wouldn’t be here to begin with.

In short, there is no button, no trip, no article, no easy answer that is going to help someone instantly feel good about themselves for the rest of their lives. Of course some of us may have been inspired by an epiphany that came upon us from the good Lord however, what about the others who do not necessarily have an epiphany or have not experienced one?

We are seeking happiness in various of other places in hopes that it will help with how we aspire to feel on the inside. Seeking ourselves out doesn’t always work either so what do we do then?

Perhaps one of the reasons we do not feel good about ourselves is because we are focusing too much on our happiness, our struggles, our weaknesses, our battles…and self reflection is definitely good from time to time but what about others?

What about their struggles, their weaknesses, their happiness?

What if the strengths and gifts that we do have are not shining yet until we use them for someone else who may be in need?

Sometimes you have to accept that you ARE enough, you just have to change your focus.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
