Sometimes you're just so done with your day, or maybe even your week, and you just want something simple to eat. Something comforting. What better way to do that then to return to your childhood? If you're having trouble remembering because the midterms stress is getting to your brain I'm here to remind you of some oldies but goodies.
1. Dinosaur Oatmeal.
To be honest, I still buy these pretty often. What's not to love? Hot oatmeal is the perfect way for me to start off a chilly day. Have it with a large mug of coffee because you know you're sort of an adult.
2. Ants on a Log.
I normally just stuck to the classic recipe of peanut butter, craisins, and celery for ants on a log but you can really get creative with it and try it with cream cheese, apple butter, yogurt, veggies, crackers, or really any combination of things. It's a great snack to have for when you have multiple classes and only 10 minute breaks in between.
3. Cosmic Brownies.
Cosmic brownies are probably one of the best things on this list. They are some of the yummiest fudgy brownies you will ever eat. If you don't want to spring for a cake for your new roommate in the dorms maybe grab a box of these and have a mini celebration. P.S.: Cascadia Market in the ILLC has sparkling cider.
4. Fruit Loops.
Sometimes you just need a bowl full of sugary cereal to start a long day off right. Grab a seat on your couch and get comfy because it's time to wake up and face that 9 a.m. class.
5. Hot dog octopus.
If you haven't ever eaten a hot dog octopus in your life then you haven't truly lived. These are ridiculously easy to make and fun for when you want to put a little effort in but not a whole lot. They are best paired with Kraft or Velveeta Mac and Cheese.
Get to snacking, Beaver Nation!
