The second Presidential Debate has just ended. America is running out of time and now has to make the choice between two unqualified candidates. What are we to do? Here are 5 things America thought during the second presidential debate.
1. Rape Culture is alive and well
If you don't realize that this, then you are clearly ignorant. Between the comments this week of "grabbing pussy" because he can and the fact that he's called women "pigs, dogs, slobs, disgusting animals", we need to realize that Trump is a blatant sexist. He issued an apology but how do you apologize to the millions of women who have been effected by the so called "locker room banter" that has become a norm in our society? This is a pattern that he has kept up with for years.
2. Hilary is avoiding key points
While I believe that Trump doesn't do a good job answering the questions presented to him, I believe that Hilary is also not doing a good job addressing key issues. Between the email scandal, immigration policies and health care reform, she begins to talk about the issues but then quickly gets side tracked. If Hilary wants to make a move on Trump, she needs to not distract herself and get right to the point on these important issues.3. The mediators need to be more fair
Through the past two debates, we have seen Lester Holt, Anderson Cooper and Martha Raddatz asking our candidates the important questions. The mediators are doing a poor job at not only controlling the audience but making sure that both candidates are getting equal time on the floor. The next mediator needs to stay focused on making sure the final debate doesn't get out of hand and to make sure that the candidates are actually spending time answering the questions.
4. The candidates fight like preteen girls
The amount of jabs and cheap shots that each candidate threw at each other was absolutely ridiculous. The email scandal and the fact that Hilary "should be in jail", fact checking Donald Trump, talking about Trump's interview with Howard Stern.... the list goes on and on. The candidates spent more time arguing with each other than actually answering the questions that were asked by the American people.
5. Kanye 2020....?
While the chances of this happening are slim and none, I believe that Kanye would address the situations happening in the United States and I believe that he would work towards an attempt at change. Considering the idea that we have Donald Trump as our potential 44th president, would we really be surprised if Kanye was our 45th...?
