If you're like me, you're in the stage where you're dating to marry. You're no longer dating just to date. You want to find that person that you're meant to spend the rest of your life with. Because lets face it, we aren't getting any younger and life is short. But honey, let me tell you I've found that love is one thing you shouldn't rush. Marriage is a huge deal, and in my eyes, it's forever. Divorce is out of the question. But that's a whole other topic to be discussed in a later article..

So, whether through mutual friends, on Facebook, out at the bar, in a restaurant, on Tinder, or however else you look for your significant other; if you think you might've found "the one" and he could possibly be that guy you will spend the rest of your life with, here are a few clues that I think should let you know that he very well could be your soulmate sent from Heaven:

1. He makes you feel like the happiest person on earth.

And by this, I mean his very presence can make the worst days turn into the best days in an instant. His smile brightens your mood. His voice makes your heart skip a beat. Suddenly "home" goes from being a place to a person. Yeah, that feeling never goes away. Even after two and a half years!

2. He's willing to do anything and everything to prove his love to you. (Although, to you, trying to prove his love to you is totally unnecessary, but he does it anyway)

By this, I mean he goes out of his way to make sure you are taken care of. This could be him getting out in the rain to pump your gas so you don't have to get wet, or dropping you off at the front and going to park the car so you don't have to walk a long way. It could look like sticking by your side through ANYTHING you guys might go through and still loving you through it all. It could be that he buy gifts every now and then just to show you that he's thinking about you, or he'll take you out on a fancy date to celebrate life's victories because he supports you in everything. Really, his love for you grows with every passing day and you just can't get enough.

3. He RESPECTS you.

This is a major key factor in what I've always wanted in a man. He's got to respect you and your boundaries, your way of life, your beliefs, etc. If he's truly "the one," he will learn to love every little thing about you. No matter the cost. He knows you're not perfect and that you never will be, but he treats you as such and that's all that matters.

4. He loves God.

This factor might not necessarily be important to some people, but to me, it's one of the most important factors. You know he loves God when he prays for you as well as with you. He doesn't begin eating his meal without blessing the food first. If something is happening in our lives, he prays over the situation. He tries his best to keep God at the center of everything. This is how you know you've got a keeper, because with God, your relationship will be invincible.

5. Last but not least- he's your absolute best friend.

A lot of successful relationships start out as best-friendships. This is because during that time as best friends, you learn everything there is to know about each other. You learn what their favorite foods are, how much they love to talk, their favorite hobbies, how they react to certain situations. You see them at their worst and their best and you become so close to each other that you eventually fall for them, sometimes when you least expect to.

There are so many more factors that prove that significant other is your person God created for you, but these are my top five. If you are still looking for that person, don't rush it. Give your desires to God and He will bring that person into your life in His timing. Just know that he/she is out there somewhere, and if you look for these factors in them, you will eventually realize they were worth the wait.
