The weather is getting warmer out as the month’s progress farther into the year and the seasons begin to transition from the cold winter months to the warmer months of spring. Here are some things that you can do if you are wanting to get out of your dorm or house and enjoy the warm weather:

1. Go for a walk.

Going for a walk is a great way to get some exercise in and enjoy the nice weather at the same time. Whether it is a walk around the block or a couple of laps around your campus, not much feels better than a walk during perfect weather.

2. Get your work done outside.

If you have work that you can’t procrastinate any longer, take it outside and sit at a bench or on a blanket in the grass and get it done while you enjoy the nice weather. Being out in the sun will definitely make your school work seem less taunting and make the time go by quicker.

3. Sit outside.

If you have no work to get done, grab some friends, a blanket, and a speaker and go sit in the sun and relax with your friends. The fresh air will feel good and, if you are lucky, there might be a dog or other pet roaming around the area you are sitting in.

4. Go swimming.

Being in a body of water is one of the most refreshing things that can be done when the weather outside is nice. It can cool you down if it is really hot out or it can just feel nice on a warmer day. Whether it’s a pool or a natural body of water, swimming is always something fun to do when the weather gets warm.

5. Play sports.

Once it gets warm out, it becomes the perfect time to go and play sports outside. This could be anything from a quick football game to playing Frisbee with a couple of friends. This is another good way to mix in some exercise and enjoy the fresh air at the same time.

Spring and summer are coming quickly and good weather is on its way to being an everyday occurrence, but while it is still a luxury these are some things that you can do to enjoy it to the fullest extent.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
