Winter term just ended, you did the best you could on your finals, and it's finally time to relax. Use your spring break to focus on what's most important, your happiness.
1. Exercise
We all hate the thought of going to the gym, but lets be honest, afterwards it makes us feel pretty damn good. Taking one hour out of your day (that you would have otherwise spent watching Netflix) to go for a run. I promise it is not going to kill you. Or, if it's a nice day, grab some of your friends and head to the sand courts for some volleyball. Move it or lose it!
2. Laugh
If you don't laugh at least once a day then you are doing it wrong. Laughing is probably one of the most effortless ways to make yourself feel better, even the thought of a word can make you laugh or chuckle a little. Go ahead and watch your favorite TV show or look up some funny videos, whatever it takes to put a smile on your face.
3. Call your mom
I mean it's your mom, she can make just about anything better. Calling your mom is like talking to an old friend, they are so excited to hear from you and always catch you up on what they've been up to. Not only does it benefit you, but telling your mom you called 'just because' will probably make her tear up with happiness. Whether you need to rant about something bothering you or just talk about your day, your mom will always be there to listen.
4. Positive Thinking
Try to wake up everyday and say at least one positive thing about yourself, I guarantee it will help change your outlook on life. We are the ones in control of our emotions, so do not let others negativity bring you down. Associating with people who give off some positive vibes are more likely to impact your mood. It's your life, you deserve to enjoy every aspect of it.
5. Go out for a few drinks
Spending time to yourself is good but so is socializing, and what better way to socialize than going out for a few drinks with friends. This does not mean go out and get so wasted your friends have to carry you home, lets be classy here. Sometimes after a long day, or week, you could really use a few alcoholic beverages to take the edge off. Do not be afraid to let loose and dance like there is no one watching you.
Happiness is the key to success, and life is way too short to spend your time unhappy and stressed out. So, do everything you can to make yourself happy. Don't sweat the small stuff, keep your eyes on the good.
