5 Signs Your Dog Is Your Best Friend

Friends with four legs are better than two.

5 Signs Your Dog Is Your Best Friend

There is no love comparable to the affection you have for your dog. While you may have friends of the human persuasion, they can never stack up against your dog. If your dog is your best friend, these five facts will be gospel truth.

1. You have more pictures of him and more selfies with him than any human being.

A true test of friendship is in fact based on your camera roll. There is nothing to be ashamed about if there are more pictures of your dog than actual people on your phone. Like they say, “a picture is worth a thousand words.” And when you have a hundred photos of your dog, you could honestly write a trilogy, the greatest trilogy of dog-human friendship.

Even though your canine bestie does not have an Instagram or a Facebook, the world most definitely knows the extent of your relationship. It simply means you are the sole commander and chief of making all of your Kodak moments social media official, which is never a problem. There will be critics that worry about your human-to-dog interaction ratio, but that simply means they do not have a pet dog in their life, which is a sad thing.

2. He knows how to make you feel better.

At the end of a long day, the last thing you want is to be bombarded with text messages and social obligations. You came home to get away from people, not to continue interacting with them. After a bad day at work, or a long week of school, no one knows how to make you feel better than your dog. He doesn’t ask you about your day because he already knows, which is why he runs to your side so you can initiate the therapeutic petting session. Both parties win in this instance; you get to pet a dog (which is always a dopamine pleaser), and your dog gets the love and attention he deserves.

3. You would rather spend time with him than be alone.

Sometimes, the presences of others can be a bother, but never is it the case with a dog. When people bother you, you have your dog. He may not talk, but do not mistake silence for a lack of caring because your canine is a great listener. He recognizes changes in your mood and body posture better than any person can, and he will always be on your side when you rant about someone with him. He is basically your “wing-dog,” and will always be on your side.

4. Cuddle time and sleep overs are the best.

There is no one you would rather spend a late night with than your dog. He does not care if you wear sweatpants and a bun, or even if you don’t wear a bra. He loves to munch on popcorn and watch scary movies with you, and he is more than willing to be your shield from the screen if the movie gets too scary. Also, he loves gossip, and will take your secrets to the end. Your dog may not be able to braid your hair, but he makes a great snuggle buddy after a long movie.

5. He is always up for an adventure.

Whether it is to the park or a drive to the beach, your dog will always want to go on a crazy adventure with you. Car rides are the best with him because you can pick whatever music you want and can hog the snacks, he does not mind. Spending time with you is his favorite pastime, not matter where you go.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
