Aging is something that no one on this planet can escape. Whether you want to grow up or not, it's going to happen eventually. Of course aging comes with both pros and cons, but overall it can be an enjoyable experience if you make it that way. It can be very hard to decipher when one officially transitions from an adolescent to an adult, so I'm here to tell you the five signs that come along with growing up. I'm sure you will be able to recognize these things popping up in your own life.

1. While strolling around Walmart, Target, etc., you find yourself browsing the home-wares aisles.

Who knew that tupperware, mugs, and toaster ovens could be so appealing? When walking down these aisles, you find yourself wanting to bring home dish sets and appliances for whatever reason. However, you probably don't need any of these items because 1) if you live with your parents, you probably already own them and 2) if you really wanted it your parents would probably buy it for you since it's an "adult" item. Despite all that though, you have to sadly force yourself to put down those owl themed place mats and walk away.

2. The thought of furnishing your own apartment/house is something you dream about all the time.

I've rarely stepped foot in an IKEA or any furniture store for that matter, but when I do, it feels like I have entered the gates of heaven. There are endless possibilities to what kind of furniture and the styles you can buy in places like this. As a child, furniture and carpet stores could not be more boring. You can tell that you're growing up when the thought of a new end table excites you.

3. You sometimes have to spent your money on things that you don't want to buy.

When you're a kid, the biggest thing you need to worry about is whether or not your mom gave you enough money to go into the gas station to buy both a candy bar and a pack of gum. You begin to slowly merge into adulthood when you need to go to the store to buy things like toilet paper, paper towels, and garbage bags. Unfortunately, spending money on these things sucks but they're necessitates.

4. When you have free time, all you want to do is nothing.

As a child, the thought of doing nothing is the worst thing on the planet. Having no one to hang out with or things to do is so beyond boring that you feel like you might die. You can tell you're getting older when you finally have free time away from work and school and all you want to do is nothing. When I have a free moment to myself, all I want to do is sit on the couch and watch an episode (or 20) of something on Netflix.

5. All your friends are getting married and having babies on purpose.

Your Facebook news feed is filled with engagements, baby gender reveals, and wedding photos. It can be very intimidating to encounter these kinds of posts, especially if you do not feel like you're on the same life path as your friends. However, it's not a big deal. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy all the wedding and baby showers you're going to be attending.

Growing up is inevitable, and we all have to do it sometime. These are just a few signs of how you know you're becoming an adult. Leave a comment below if you know of any other signs specifically related to aging!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
