My little sister is one of my best friends. Growing up, we spent almost every waking moment together, which led to us having similar interests and beliefs. Going to college was hard, as I was leaving her an hour and a half away from me, and we were unable to see each other as much. Now however, she goes to college only a half hour from me, and we are able to see each other so much more. We are pretty close in age, less than three years to be exact, and it honestly is the best feeling in the world to have a younger sister who you can be so close too. So here are five things that every pair of inseparable sisters who are close in age know to be true.
1. People Think You're Twins
This may not be as common if you don't look alike, but even though I'm a 21 year old college junior, and she's an 18 year old freshman, everyone thinks that my sister and I are twins. We are close in height (she's taller though sadly) and have the same hair color, and a similar sense of style, but it always catches us off guard when people think we're twins. At the same time, it's kind of nice though. It's nice that we are so visibly related and so visibly close to each other. It says a lot about our relationship.
2. You Always Ask Each Other For Advice
My sister is the first person I go to for everything. Whether it be which dress I should buy for formal, how I should address a text to our parents, or what classes we should take in the spring, my sister and I are always asking each other advice, especially now that we are both in college.
3. You Talk About Everything
My sister and I can have an in-depth conversation about practically anything. We've vented about homework, discussed politics, freaked out over cute dogs, have had entire conversations in song lyrics, and have even had conversations in sighs. It's always easy to find things to talk about when you're of the same flesh and blood.
4. You Always Have A Brunch Buddy
Going to brunch is one of my favorite things in the world. And having a sister nearby makes going to brunch even more fun. I love exploring the different brunch restaurants in our cities, and bonding over how much food we can eat before we explode. My sister is the best brunch buddy out there.
5. You Will Always Be There For Each Other
Friends can come and go, but sisters will always be by your side. I know that no matter where life brings us or what happens in our futures that my sister and I will always have each other backs. We've gone through a lot together, and I am so blessed to have a sister that I will have by my side as my maid of honor when I get married.
