Ah, Texas. It is, in my opinion, the best state to grow up in. I mean, what's not to like? Here are a few reasons why I will always love the Lone Star state.

1. The Rivers

This week, I've been able to see the beautiful Sabinal River in Utopia, Texas. While it may be cold, it's a great place to swim in the summer, and a great place to relax. If you're looking for some great rivers, Texas definitely has them.

2. The Food

You gotta love the food down here. You've got everything from barbecue, to Tex-Mex, to Blue Bell Ice Cream. I promise, if and when you come down here, you will never go hungry.

3. Whataburger

Yes, I know I already mentioned food, but I feel like Whataburger deserves its own part in this list. When you go, you've gotta order a Patty Melt meal, and when they bring you your food, get some spicy ketchup. It's not too hot, and it's definitely worth it.

While it is getting a little more national, Whataburger will always be known as a Texas thing.

4. Football

American football, that is. This sport is basically a religion in this state. Whether it's High School, College, Pro, or even Pop Warner, it's the most popular topic here. Nobody says they "hate" football in Texas, and if they do, they're lying.

5. The Friendly People

Texas people are the most loving, giving, and happy people. First of all, how can you not be happy with all of the things I mentioned earlier? These people will welcome you into their homes and in their lives if you're nice to them. They'll wave at you for no other reason than to just be nice, and they don't expect a wave back.

While, yes, there are some people who aren't so nice, but overall, they're a good bunch of people.
