As the conclusion of 2016 comes to a rapid close, many movie buffs are already looking ahead to the exciting releases that are on the brink come 2017. However, there are still some good films on the horizon of November 2016. Throughout my investigations into the movie scene, I remained pretty unimpressed by the trailers are synopses of the films that are to be released this month. However, below are some that I think while be worth the price of admission to your nearest overpriced movie theater.

Doctor Strange- Releasing November 4th

The latest character in a long chain of Marvel superheroes, Doctor Strange tells the story of Doctor Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), whose life is dramatically altered after a near-fatal car accident that will provide him with earth-shattering abilities (and a sick cape,) as he faces a dark battle against forces not of this world. As a superhero nerd myself, I'm very excited to see what Cumberbatch does with this unique and underrated character.

Loving- Releasing November 4th

Being released by cinematic mega-minds, Focus Features and Universal Studios, Loving tells the story of an interracial marriage during a time when those types of things didn't really fly. Starring Joel Edgerton and Ruth Negga, Loving is based off a true story, and is sure to pull at even the toughest of heart strings. I'm not one of sappy love stories, but this is a film I will definitely be seeing.

Arrival- Releasing November 11th

(Image via Wikipedia)

As legitimately terrified as I am of a real-life alien invasion, Arrival looks pretty sick. Starring Amy Adams as Linguistics professor Louise Banks, this film features a very Independence Day-esqe story line as 12 alien space ships touch down around the globe. But the question is, are the here to blow us up just like Independence Day? Or are they our friends? Early-screening reviews have culminated to a whopping 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, a nearly unheard of score. That alone is enough to get my attention.

Shut In- Releasing November 11th

(Image via Wikipedia)

Another film following the trend of titles under three syllables is Shut In, set to release on November 11th. Naomi Watts, a psychologist recovering from a car accident that killed her husband and paralyzed her son, realizes that she's not alone when she's caring for her paralyzed son in her forest-isolated home. Conveniently cut off from the rest of the world after a bad storm, Watts is alone with this stranger who is obviously unfriendly. Shut In looks scary as hell for sure, and I'm itching for a nice thriller to make me jump out of my skin.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them- Releasing November 18th

(Image via Collider)

Admittedly, my heart begins to flutter when I see anything Harry Potter-related or anything with J.K Rowling's name involved, but Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them looks like a suitable flick for even the non-HP fan. Eddie Redmayne portrays the aloof yet brilliant Newt Scamander, a character that is no longer alive when the HP readers meet Harry in the mid-90's. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them takes place in New York City, 1926, and is sure to be an adventure of magical proportions. HP fan or not, I recommend this film for anybody seeking some fantasy adventure.

Just because the films above are at the top of my November movie list, doesn't mean they have to be at the top of yours. For the complete list of films being released in America in November 2016, I suggest you visit Moviefone, my go-to for movie scheduling.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
