There of course are many places you can buy decorations, but DIY projects are a fun and cheap way to spice up your dorm, apartment, or room. A common misconception is that you need to be artistic to do DIY projects, but this is not true. I know this from personal experience. I happen to be terrible at art, but I still managed to be able to do projects like these. Check these out!
This one is a super easy way to tell your keys apart from each other, especially if they all look similar! Just choose a nail color for each key, then remember which key got each nail color. It doesn't only look cute, but it's also super useful!
Graphic Shirt
This one is a simple and easy way to spice up a plain t-shirt, and it proves you don't need to be good at art to create a piece like this! Use masking tape to make a pattern, then use colored fabric paint and dab it over the design. After it dries, peel it off to create your design, then wear it!
Picture Pendent
This one is a super fun way to spice up your room or dorm room! Simply take any string of your choice (I used twine when I made mine), and print out photos. You can just use photos, or to make it even cuter, cut triangles of craft paper with cute patterns on them. Fasten the photos and the paper triangles to the twine, and attach to the wall by tying the ends of the twine to a command strip.
Flower Power Garlands
Another fun one for rooms or dorm rooms! First, take colored craft paper of your choice and use paper cutters with fun shapes like in the photo. Then, hot glue your shapes onto even pieces of string. Finally, hot glue all the strings to a painted wooded or plastic strip, then proceed to hang it anywhere you want.
Glam Charger
Sometimes, it's nice to do simple projects like this cute sparkly charger. All you need is a small paint brush, a little modge podge, and sparkles the color of your choice! What you need to do is take the paint brush and paint the parts of the cord you would like to be sparkly. Then once this is done, wait until the mode podge is tacky before you use the same paint brush to carefully apply sparkles.
