There are aspects of female livelihood that men will never fully grasp. And that’s okay, because living as a man and as a woman are meant to be two completely different experiences. However, as a woman, we expect our men to be a little sensitive to the “struggles” women face. This quick listicle lists five struggles a man could never understand or experience! Tiffany Pollard (aka New York) is reality TV's drama queen; what a better way to elaborate these womanly struggles.

UNEXPECTED MENSTRUAL CYCLE AND SYMPTOMS

Let’s be completely real; at some point in our lives, we’ve been unprepared for our monthly visit. Whether in class, at an event, or even casually waking up in the morning, there have been times where our cycle makes an unexpected appearance. To make matters completely worse, the influx of hormonal changes that occur throughout this period of time facilitate a host of physical changes. Many ladies may even experience hormonal acne, cramping, as well as an unattractive bloated feeling. What a time to be a woman.

HAIR, EVERYWHERE.

Appearance is everything, right? Well, not so much. But in the world of estrogen, attentiveness to beauty and appearance is critical. Many of us ladies predetermine our look for the next day, but are often times are found yelling when our plans fall through. Not to mention, you might have to be somewhere in twenty minutes. I guess it’s time to pick your favorite hat? But the hair on our heads is not our only concern. Women are typically expected to uphold a standard of being smooth…everywhere. But shaving bumps are unattractive? What an interesting complex.

EMOTIONS – ALL OF THEM

Even on our worse days it seems like our hormones offer no sympathy. And on days that seem to be going well… nope. Not today. Suck it up, ladies.

CAT CALLING

“Aye, ma!”

“Aye, girl in the green pants!”

“Why you look so mean, you should smile more!”

Yeah, you’re the very reason why we aren’t smiling. It pains us women to not be able to walk down the street without being approached as if we are in fact ladies. Walking through a group of seemingly thirsty men is just… painful.

WEARING HEELS

Men often wonder why we choose to wear heels when we know for a fact we’ll be out for a long period of time or will be required to walk extensively. Well, beauty kills. Some outfits are made for a nice pump, and would seem incomplete with anything less. Wearing heels, oddly enough, enhances our mathematical complex. How long will I be wearing the heels? Multiply that by the distance I can expect to walk…divide that by the amount of times I’ll have the opportunity to sit? Okay, cool. I can wear these tonight.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
