We finally have survived first semester. No more studying, no more pencils, no more books, no more professors’ dirty looks. Ok, all kidding aside, winter break is the best thing in the world without a doubt. A time to come home and be with our families as well as do absolutely nothing. Time to start binge watching that show you have been wanting to catch up and snacking on Christmas cookies.
Here are five of some of the best things about winter break.
1. Christmas
It’s the most wonderful time of the year. With the kids jingle belling…oh you know the rest of it. Christmas, or whatever holiday you celebrate, is the main reason that we have winter break in the first break. Being with your family, snacking on cookies, anxiously anticipating Christmas Day, there is just so much to love about the holidays.
2. No more class
All of those late nights and stress fests we have had about assignments and finals are finally over and we can relax for a few weeks. After all that hard work, our brains deserve a chance to recover and do it all again when the next semester rolls around. We are halfway through the school year, which is also a comforting fact.
3. Binge Watching that New Netflix show
Want to catch up on the new season of SVU but haven’t had the chance due to studying? Go right ahead and catch up. You’ve got all the time in the world for that. Winter break is a great opportunity to catch up on your favorite shows or get into new ones.
4. Being With Family
Spending time with your friends and family is also a great stress reliever because now you are the one being taken care of instead of having to take care of yourself while you were at college. Put all of those worries away and just enjoy being home for a few weeks. Nothing beats home-cooked meals after eating nothing but dorm food for the past few months.
5. Finals Are Finally Over!!!!
All of that studying and stress is over! We do not have to worry about another final until the beginning of summer. Do I need to say anything else?
Enjoy break and let your brain sleep for a few weeks. You’ve earned it and deserve it more than anything.
