College and "adulting" are hard, and it only gets harder as you get older (so I’ve heard). Well, I’m here to give you some tips on how to try being productive. You can try just one of these tips to get your feet wet, then once you incorporate one into your daily routine, you’ll see a big change. They might sound super hard at first, but it only takes a couple days to form a habit, and you’ll be glad you tried any of these productivity hacks.
Stay organized
I bet you’re saying to yourself, “Easier said than done.” But you only need a couple of things to get yourself organized. Starting with a planner, also known as agenda, is a miracle worker. Write down your homework assignments, meeting times, and work schedule in a planner, and you’ll have your life planned out and organized in no time. Planners are a great investment.
Try different study environments
Studying often feels more like just plain dying, but maybe its because you need to switch it up. Do you always do homework in your room? You’d be surprised at how much you get done faster when you go to the library, or sit on a bench on campus, or to a coffee shop. When you’re surrounded by other people being productive and getting stuff done, it’s contagious.
Work out
Whether you go to the gym or just get out and run in your neighborhood or park, you are getting dressed in workout clothes and moving. If that’s not productive, I don't know what is. It may seem impossible, but the hardest part is starting, then you’ll love how awesome you feel about yourself after you kill a workout. It’s a beautiful cycle.
Go to bed early
This also might sound impossible, but it’s so worth it in the end. Sleep is one of the most important things for the body and mind, and getting around 8 hours will do wonders for your mood and energy levels. Try to go to bed around the same time every night and fall asleep easier by not using your phone one hour before bedtime. It works wonders.
Wake up early
Did you see this one coming? Go to bed at a reasonable time, that means not 2 in the morning. We all know the struggle of crazy sleep patterns, going to bed at 3 am and waking up at noon the next day. That’s not realistic for functioning human beings in college, you can save that for long breaks and summer.
