In summer, there are so many things to distract you from being productive and healthy! I know there are days I have found myself binge watching Friends in my t-shirt and shorts from the night before and next thing I know it's time to shower and get to bed. I decided in May that I was going to try to eat healthier and workout everyday, and let Sunday be my rest day. It was hard to get into a groove at first, and I had a lot of setback days, but now I am working out the way I had initially hoped for and I love it! Here are some ideas to help you get started!
Food:
Spinach Salads with lean chicken breast is one of my favorite lunch go-to's! It is so light, filling, and easy.
I LOVE fruit so pretty much anytime of the day I would get like a cup and have some as a snack or have grapefruit as breakfast.
Salmon was dinner every night in Colorado because my mom rocks at making it and we could never get sick of it!
1/2 medium baked potato is only 85 calories!
Almonds, with some chocolate because it's amazing but probably not ideal
WATER WATER WATER
smoothie (protein shakes)
pretzels
Workout:
Push-ups: I could barely do 2 at the beginning of my journey and now I am so proud with how many I can do
Staggered push-ups: (for armpit fat)
Bicycle crunches: my favorite
Jumping Jacks: pretty self explanatory but actually effective
Squats: Kill me now but you can feel the burn
Planks: Again I love to hate them
Wall sits: Pretend like your trying to sit in a chair and use the wall as if it were the backof the chair.
High knees: I hate these but do them a lot for someone who hates them
Running: I truly fell in love with it a couple years ago, you never know what might surprise you.
Russian Twists: kinda like bicycle crunches but in my opinion, better
Lunges: for the legs
Bird dogs: way more efficient than crunches
There are a lot more but this is just to inspire you to see how many you can do! I believe 8 hours of sleep is a perfect start, and when you give yourself a goal it helps get motivated! For me, I wake up and put on workout clothes so I'm forced to get up and moving. I also love making a really good playlist or watching shows on Netflix while I workout to pump me up or distract if it's really hard! I know its hard at first, but it makes your day SO much better, I promise! I also love motivational quotes. One that always helps me is, "Fear will either create you or destroy you, face your fears."
