Sitting in classrooms and lecture halls in college classes is kind of scary. Having to pee and not sure if you’re supposed to raise your hand and ask to go or just wait, but you see the older students get up and just leave. You sit there quietly wondering if you can ask questions or answer questions. Everything is still new and fresh in your mind. Your class schedule may be all over the place, having a two-hour gap between classes one day to having a ten-minute gap between other classes. Trying to get to class on time without being too early.
All the friends you had during middle school and high school aren’t around anymore. You must make new friends so you have someone to hang out with. Some students you graduated with may be getting engaged or pregnant. Everybody is growing up and becoming an adult in their own way. Professor try and change your opinion on politics and religion. The first day of class you’ll realize that professor’s cuss from than a biker. At first its a shock, then you get use to it.
College opens your mind to many ideas. It’s a whole new world. You can cry anywhere or sleep anywhere and no one questions it. Everyone has headphones in and is wearing sweat pants or booty shorts. College is weird and different. There is no way to prepare for what you are going to see, hear, or think.
