The First Week of Senior Year, As Told By Beyonce

Because, sometimes Queen Bey is just SO RELATABLE.

For many colleges and universities, classes have already begun for the semester, and for college seniors, the first week is one of the best and worst weeks of our lives. And it's pretty difficult to describe that feeling, so I felt like Queen Bey would be better for the job.

When you step back onto campus for the first time:

When the professor tries to keep you the entire hour on syllabus day:

Give me those three pieces of paper, talk about the book I'm NEVER going to buy, and then let's BOUNCE.

When you look at the syllabus for your upper-level course and see that you already have a paper due by the end of the week:

Why, yes, professor. I would LOVE to write a five-page paper to celebrate coming off of a three-month stint of laying around the house every day.

When you find out that you and your best friend are in the same class together:

This feeling is the same whether or not you previously knew if you'd both be taking the class.

How you and that best friend then proceed to act during the whole class period:

By the time you reach senior year, you realize how useless syllabus day is anyways, so you might as well try and find a little bit of enjoyment in the mundane.

When the professor calls on you in class, and you are DEFINITELY wrong:

Look, I'm in this 100-level course so that I could just sit back and glide through for an easy A, please don't expect me to impart my wisdom onto the freshman by participating.

When your adviser asks what your plans are following graduation:

I DON'T KNOW, OKAY? For right now, I'm just trying to get by and making sure I don't fail so that I can get out of here. I'll figure out my plans in April!

When you go to that first house party on Friday night:

Looks don't matter when you're just trying to slam shots of Fireball and forget about the fact that you're going to be forced into the real in just nine short months.

How you feel at the start of the second week when you see freshman freaking out about the upcoming year:

We all kind of feel like the beginning of the year is pretty daunting, but then you see the things freshman worry about, and you realize how much you are capable of in the next year, and that's pretty empowering.

So, here's to the Class of 2017. Let's raise a glass to making this last year f****ng amazing and being the baddest bitches Beyoncé would want us to be.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
