To My First Real College Best Friend
Alla Miller

Dear My First College Best Friend,

You may not have been my first friend at college or my first close friend, but that does not make you any less important and shouldn't be forgotten. You were my first real college best friend.

Thank you for being my first real best friend at college. Thank you for helping me see what I want in a friend and what I really don't want. Thank you for all the support you gave me this past year. Thank you for calling me out when I was being ridiculous and saying you were proud of me when I did something right. I know there are a million letters just like this on the internet, but I am very appreciative for all you have done for me.

Thank you for finally helping me realize who my real friends are and how I deserve to be treated and what a good friend looks like. Thank you for showing me that I am the sun (Grey's reference) and nobody should "eclipse" what I need.

Thank you for all the late nights we stayed up, whether we were yelling out the window or just talking about anything and everything. I definitely miss those nights now being home from college for the summer, but you are just a phone call away.

Thank you for being my gym buddy and helping me motivate you while you motivated me to get in shape.

Thank you for never giving our friendship up. I know we do not always see eye to eye. I know I can be a major pain in the butt and you can be annoying, but even when times got weird between us, it always worked out and you never left or gave up. I really appreciate that, and I am glad to have such an amazing friend like you.

Don't know how I would have made it through this year without you. I miss you lots.

I hope I was half the friend you were to me this year,

Your Best Friend at College

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
