This summer, I told myself I would not spend even one day being bored. I compiled this list of fun things to do that can help you and I not even waste one day of our summer!

Enjoy!

1. Read a book.

I may be biased because I LOVE to read, but books can be so entertaining! They can take you to another world, place or reality that you've never experienced before. There's a story out there for everyone!

2. Stargaze.

If you ever want to feel small, take a look up at the gorgeous stars in the sky. They are there to be admired.

3. Do some form of exercise.

As much as I hate to admit it, I do feel much better after doing some kind of exercise. The key is to find a type that you enjoy so you don't realize you are exercising. Examples include cycling, rollerblading, dancing, yoga, etc.

4. Hang out with friends.

J. Jones

During the school year, it's so hard to find time to see my friends with school and work. It really takes a toll on me. Summer is great for hanging out with friends and acting silly. Even if your friends live thousands of miles away, try to plan a Skype date. You won't regret it. <3

5. Experience nature.

J. Jones

Our planet deserves more attention. Just wandering around a creek or taking a short walk can do wonders for your mood. The sooner you do this, the better because our planet isn't going to be around much longer at this rate. *Sigh*

6. See a live concert/show.

J. Jones

It may not have been scientifically proven (YET), but going to concerts is the best thing for you ever. The atmosphere, talent and love in the room is intoxicating. If you've never been to a concert/show, go!

7. Spend time with animals.

J. Jones

Animals are better than people. They love you unconditionally and won't ever hurt your feelings. 10/10 would recommend.

8. Create something.

J. Jones

Even if you are severely untalented, such as myself, making something is a super neat feeling. Whether you give the item as a gift or keep it for yourself, it will still be a nice reminder of what you accomplished when you see it.

9. Go to the zoo.

J. Jones

The zoo is such a fun place for all ages. Not only do you get to interact with animals from all different places in the world, but you can also participate in programs to learn more about them as well!

10. Participate in a library's summer reading program.

J. Jones

This may seem like a shameless plug since I work for the Public Library of Cincinnati & Hamilton County, but these programs are legit. They are for all ages, can help your child stay up to speed on their reading for summer and can help you earn prizes such as coupons, tickets, etc. How cool!

11. Write on Odyssey!

J. Jones

This may also seem like another shameless plug, but I love writing for Odyssey. It helps me get creative ideas flowing and have brought me to meet wonderful people. If you are interested, apply to be a creator at the link below!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
