My Introduction To Odyssey
Dylan Jung

Hello World.

This was a phrase most frequently used by an old professor of mine not too long ago. These two words were brought up in the middle of class so often, it got annoying REALLY fast. However, in this instance, I find these words appropriate as I attempt to let my voice be heard via Odyssey. This was recommended to me by a friend and for the past several months, I've been dodging whether or not I should even type the site's name into my search engine. So, what did I do? Well, I'm here, now am I?

This is my first post or publication on the site and, for the entire day, I wondered what I would talk about. Given the serious nature of the articles I found on the Odyssey's homepage, I knew I was going in deep here. But I ultimately decided that I would try to shy away from all of that heavy stuff and mostly focus on the content I wanted to put out. That doesn't mean I'm not open to suggestions or anything, I'm just saying I won't try and force my political opinions, ethics, or beliefs down your throat. I want people to fell comfortable when they come here, now.

As for what I will or may be posting here, to be completely honest, I'm not sure. Now, don't think I came onto this site without a clue of what the hell I was going to do - I have ideas floating around in my noggin, but I'm quite unsure as to whether or not there's a criteria or format I have to follow. For example, I've been reminded on many occasions that I am a talented writer when it comes to analysis or storytelling, but how well will that translate onto here? Not everyone comes onto this site to find out if the knight heroically saves the maiden or to read your fandom fan-fictions or find out if Little Timmy makes it out of the well. This idea is what led me to write this article at midnight on the eve of February - to see what kind of content you as viewers/readers you would like me to post. I have plenty of social media accounts you can find me on if you have any ideas, and if you do it doesn't have to be anything specific - just run an idea across me and I'll see if it can benefit to my time on the site. (I'll even mention you as a sort of collaborator if you wish.)

I hope you'll be okay with my first publication. I'm sorry I couldn't make it anything interesting like a group analysis, animal pics, or a Top (insert number here) list. But maybe you'll be able to help me as I strive to give you something you can appreciate or even just smile to; keep in mind that this isn't just my journey here - this is a journey we take together.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
