Your First College Party, As Told By Puppies

Your first night might be RUFF, but they get better.

Your First College Party, As Told By Puppies

You are about to go off to college for the first time, and there are some things that you may not have ever experienced before. One of those is your first college party; it’s very different from high school parties.

In high school it would usually be at someone’s house while their parents were out of town with only your friend group and a few extra kids you knew. With those parties the person throwing the party would make sure nothing happened to their house and it never fully got out of control. It's not like that in college at all. No parents, no curfew, and no rules. Anything goes when it comes to a college party. There are no regards to keeping the house looking pretty, there is no one watching over people to act like humans, everyone’s spirit animal is in full swing, and there is usually no toilet paper.

Enough with me telling you about it myself, these puppies are way better at explaining it.

The pre-game:

You will be stuffed into a tiny room with some random freshmen your roommate met in their orientation group with about 20 other random freshmen. Sound fun?

You start drinking and you're feeling it quickly, and that awkward kid sitting on the bed says you look good and you can't help but blush. Now you know you're ready for tonight.

On the way to the party:

Everyone can tell you and your army of pre-gamers are freshmen by your eagerness to get to the party (way too early). You travel in packs; it's okay all freshmen do it.

You get to the party:

Go straight to the bar. There, someone asks if you want "bucket" and you have absolutely no clue what that is. You just go for the safe bet, crappy beer.

You're finally ready to party, time to hit the dance floor.

There is an opening on the stage, it's your time to shine.

Then again, maybe not.

Everyone has had enough at this point.

You all leave to go get food, and eat like you have never seen food before.

You finally get back to your dorm and you are unable to function. You're full and still feeling a bit tipsy.

You finally get in bed and fall asleep, and you are out. Nothing is waking you up.

The next morning you look at your phone and see all of the embarrassing pictures, Snapchats and text messages. Then think to yourself, "there are four more years of this."

WELCOME TO COLLEGE. Good luck and be careful.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
