Firefly Music Festival is an amazing four day concert in Dover Downs, Delaware, produced by Red Frog Events. It showcases music from many varieties of artists and is really an experience that you cannot afford to miss!
1. The Layout: At Firefly, there are numerous stages spread out all over The Woodlands. You never feel crowded or cramped except of course if you are at the very front of the stage.
2. The FOOD: Okay, so typical concert food is not so great, right? It's like night and day comparing it to the food at this festival. If you talk to any other Firefly goers, I won't be the only one to tell you how awesome the food is. Honestly, anything you want, they have it there for you. Crab cakes? Chinese? Hummus? Yes, yes and yes, and SO much more!
3. The People: I have never appreciated humanity so much until I went to this festival. In all honesty "GOOD VIBES ONLY" is literally the motto at Firefly. There are just happy, friendly people everywhere you turn and you always have something in common to talk about considering where you are and why you're there.
4. The Atmosphere: The Woodlands are exactly what you would imagine they are and yet so much more. Firefly is held in a clearing surrounded by a vast forest that makes you feel like you were just dropped smack in the middle of a musical wonderland.
5. The Camping: Unfortunately, I didn't get the opportunity to camp last year, but by hanging out at my friends' campsite during the day I really got a feel for what it's all about. Even though it's dirty, smelly, and maybe a little unsanitary… it really forces you to enjoy the outdoors, your friends, and great music.
6. The Attractions: If Firefly wasn't incredible enough, it also has many additional attractions such as The Market. Here you can enjoy all types of innovative shopping including custom designing a pair of Toms that you paint yourself! Other attractions include The Brewery, Hammock Hangout, The Coffee Lounge, as well as The Thicket where all participants wear headphones and jam to the same song.
7. The Music: Now this is kind of a given, but seeing so many incredible performers in a span of four days is an experience unlike any other. There is something for everyone, from rap to EDM, to alternative and everything in between. It is something that you will cherish for a lifetime and want to do again every year. I'm ready for round two.
