What Finishing Up The Semester Looks Like With Help From The Cast Of 'Prison Break'

Because breaking out of prison and escaping the responsibilities of college are basically the same thing.

With finals coming terrifyingly fast around the corner, it looks like the second semester is wrapping up for most of us in college. This is a time filled with constant stress and busy schedules with ungodly amounts of responsibilities. Oftentimes, we can feel a little restricted with all of our day-to-day obligations, and the majority of us are undoubtedly ready for classes to be finished up so summer can take over.

Recently, the popular tv show "Prison Break" returned to Fox for its fifth season. In celebration of its release, here are some very real thoughts and feelings towards the end of the semester, as told through the characters of the hit show.

1. Stress eating.

Once those assignments start piling up and exams are just around the corner, our comfort foods start becoming regular necessities.

2. When things are too good to be true.

On the rare occasion that a class is canceled or an assignment's due date is pushed back, it's definitely a good idea to double check that you heard it right. That news is simply just too good to be true.

3. When you just have to accept the reality of impending stress.

There's really no way of avoiding it, so we may as well tackle it head-on. Bring it on.

4. When a family member asks how school is going.

Despite the countless times that I assure you school is going well, I'm really crying inside at the thought of my classes.

5. When you're running low on motivation, but still try to pick yourself and others up.

We can get through this. We can do this. It'll all work out in the end.

6. When you don't know the answer to a test question.

This guess is as good as any right? We can hope the professor likes animals and decides to give a few pity points.

7. When you procrastinate until the very last minute. . . again.

This bad habit needs to end. I'll quit at some point, I'm sure.

8. Stress eating, part two.

Pizza is basically the staple college food anyways, so ordering it several times a week is totally justifiable. We're doing it for the sake of our own health, it's fine.

9. When you take time away from studying to organize the rest of your life.

A little tidying up your work/living space really helps lift the spirits, especially in the midst of all the chaos that's going on.

10. When the going gets tough, we're ready to power through.

At this point in time, I'd be willing to sell my soul just to survive the rest of the semester. Hell, I'll sell my soul just to get a few extra hours of sleep here and there.

Hang in there, y'all. We've almost made it. We're basically just like Michael Scofield of "Prison Break." Our time to break out is coming soon.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
